Founded in 1994, Shanghai Lianji Synthetic Fibre Co., Ltd. is a large-scale joint venture invested by three parties---Shangtex Holding Co., Ltd., Zimmer AG, of the Federal Republic of Germany, and Shanghai International Shanghai Growth Investment Ltd. The investment of the company amounts to USD 138 million with the registered capital USD 49.92 million. The company is located in Shanghai Sparkl Development Zone with an area of 435.5 acres and a staff of 571 people. The equipment of a 70,000 T/Y Fibre Grade Polyester Plant (Phase One Project), a 30,000 T/Y Direct Spinning Staple Fibre Plant Phase Two Project and a 150,000 T/Y Polyester Plant   (Phase Three Project) with international advanced technology have been imported. Phase One Project is listed as Shanghai Municipal Major Engineering and Construction Project. Both Phase Two Project and  Phase Three Project are listed as Shanghai Municipal Key Engineering Construction Project. At present, the company has the production scale of 250,000 tons polyester chip and 30,000 tons direct spinning staple fibre.
    Under the principle of “striving for the first class”, Lianji has established such quality guideline as “every chip is superb, every fiber is excellent, everybody is first-class, and every customer is satisfied”. Production is organized strictly according to the internationally advanced quality management mode. Quality Commitment System and After-sales Service Commitment System are fully carried out. Lianji is one of the domestic companies of its kind to have been issued ISO9001 certificate at an early time. 1.50dtex×38mm Polyester Staple Fiber Standard Sample produced by Lianji obtained the State Standard Sample Certificate in 2000. The company's Process Research on Increasing the Polyester Production Capacity obtained Shanghai First Award of Science and Technology Progress in 2001. Lianji Brand Polyester Staple Fiber and Polyester Chip have been evaluated as Shanghai Famous Brand Products in 2002 and 2003 respectively. The company has researched and developed "Prolivon Polyester Fiber" (Proliven ) with the hollow degree reaching the international standard and applied for national patent for it in 2005. Furthermore, the company has successfully adopted the international fiber brand tag management concept for "Prolivon Polyester Fiber", which makes it become the first domestic fiber brand with the brand tag management since the establishment of the People's Republic of China. In May 2006, the company's "Fulldull Polyester Chip" and "Prolivon Polyester Fiber" underwent examination as to novelty by Shanghai related authorities. In June 2006, the company's "Full-dull Polyester Chip" and "Prolivon Polyester Fiber" were recognized as "Shanghai High and New Technical Achievement Transferable Projects" for its good applied cost and bright market perspective for commercialization.
    Since its establishment, Lianji has been awarded the honorable titles of Shanghai Municipal Model Unit, Shanghai Advanced Technology Enterprise, Shanghai Double Excellent Foreign Investment Enterprise, Shanghai Industry Excellent Enterprise, and Shanghai Excellent Industry Image Unit for over ten years in a row.  Beyond that,  it has been honorably listed in the top Shanghai.100 enterprises each year.
   Lianji has a production scale of 250,000 T/Y polyester chip, 60,000 T/Y direct spinning staple fiber and 20,000 T/Y filament, which will be executed step by step. Through the unremitting efforts of Lian Ji people, a new enterprise with considerable scale, new and advanced technology, a large 21th century-oriented enterprise with international first-class standard is now springing up in the land of Sparkling Development Zone.
